Gruinard Bay, Wester Ross

This was a place I’d found some years before, when I was just starting on my photography journey. I was immediately impressed by the sheer beauty of this spot, though back then I didn’t quite have the skill to make the most of it. Over 10 years on, and a lot of learning later I simply had to take advantage when I was presented with near perfect weather conditions.  Not only is this location really beautiful, but it also marks my personal journey as a photographer.

The faint white clouds above the bay allude to the elevations of the nearby mountainside, augmented by the purple heather and greenery of a spring morning.
