Shepherd’s Winter

Buachaille Etive Mòr, Glencoe.

It had been a very cold winter with quite a bit of snow when this was taken, and there were a number of vehicles that had come off the road in the icy conditions of the preceding days. I love the strong, triangular shape of the Buachaille from this approach. It’s a very distinctive shape that I associate with good memories of holidays and hillwalking in this area. The white snow contrasted against the colourful blue sky really appeals to me in this image.
